Michael & Monica
Their Love Story
For a long time, it felt like they were simply orbiting around each other, crossing paths at church events, seeing each other in familiar spaces, never fully knowing that God was quietly aligning their steps. There was no single “first meeting” to mark the beginning. Instead, it was as if one day they looked up and realized they were already walking toward each other.
First Impressions
Monica noticed Michael right away: handsome, active at church, and quietly present. Michael saw Monica and thought, “She is absolutely breathtaking… and way more mature than me.” He felt a pull immediately, the kind that makes the heart wonder if a prayer has just been answered. Later he realized she wasn’t just an answered prayer, she was the answer to things he didn’t even know to pray for.
A Spark That Felt Different
For Monica, the spark lit during their first FaceTime call, effortless, comfortable, and the kind of conversation that made hours feel like minutes. For Michael, it was the first time he made her genuinely laugh. In that moment, something clicked. “I NEED to do this forever.”
The Beginning
Their first official date was on November 9, 2024, at a vegan restaurant in downtown Sacramento. By the time the date ended, Michael felt like all the puzzle pieces had fallen into place. Not long after came their first adventure together at Six Flags during Christmas. The lights were bright, the air was crisp, and it became the place where the “L-word” first slipped out and found a home. There were funny moments too, like a weekend early on where lack of communication created more chaos than clarity. But even then, grace, laughter, and humility became the threads that stitched them closer.
Falling in Love
Monica realized she was in love during a weekend apart. She was in Atlanta for a discipleship conference, he was at Mount Hermon for a men’s retreat, and missing him physically made her feel sick. She knew she never wanted to be far from him again. Michael knew by the end of their first date. Loving Monica taught him, unexpectedly, how to love himself. Feeling her reciprocate his heart helped him see his own worth and made him want to give even more of himself to her.
The Proposal
Michael proposed at Alameda Beach and pulled off a complete surprise. The wind, the waves, and the softness of the moment made everything feel surreal. Monica was so shocked that she didn’t even remember if she actually said “yes”… but she definitely did.
Who They Are Together
Monica, consistent, caring, and considerate, brings warmth, depth, and emotional intelligence to their relationship. Her love for writing, reading, serving at church, and her heart for people forms a steady rhythm that Michael feels safe in.
Michael, caring, loving, and loyal, brings creativity, humor, and a deep passion for God’s Word. His love for music, study, apologetics, and people shines in everything he does. To Monica, he makes life feel lighter, brighter, and kinder.
They call themselves “Home Team,” a pair that moves in sync, supports each other with ease, and loves with intention. They serve at church, read and write together, laugh constantly, and chase after God’s heart side by side. Sundays are their sacred rhythm, their #SundayLove, filled with worship, rest, and each other. Every night ends with FaceTime, followed by a final text. Their life is built on communication, growth, and the belief that every challenge can be navigated one word at a time.
What They Look Forward To
Monica looks forward to the quiet moments of simply enjoying each other’s presence, being still together, and building a life made up of both big memories and small joys.
Michael looks forward to seeing who God shapes them into, individually and together, and how their union will influence their future children and the world around them.
Their Future
They dream of a marriage that is God honoring, a life directed by His steps. A home that is loving, joyful, full of growth, and led by faith. A partnership that always feels like, “Okay, here’s how we win.” With love, communication, and trust in God, they truly are one of the strongest teams.
Three words to describe their relationship: Sarcastic. Loving. Christ-centered.
And on March 7, 2026, their next chapter begins, hand in hand, heart to heart, Home Team forever.
